Organization: 30 Days Abundance – Day 7

Welcome to 30 days of Abundance, Day 7. I’m delighted that you are here. My topic for the day is organizational systems and creating good habits. Please watch the video below.

A Strong Foundation for Success…

It’s fun to journal and organize your dreams and goals.

This is a great way to keep track of things and build good habits.

Here is an example of a Habit Tracker. I make my own weekly habit tracker in my bullet journal. At the end of two weeks, I check for the high scores. If I have any, then I celebrate my success.

I made a quick video for you. Watch me make a collage journal.

I loved sharing with you how I handle my personal organization systems. Can you share a notebook system that works well for you… or even your favorite pens or journals?

Some of My Favorite Supplies:

  • Simple Small Notebook or Journal: I like these ones with dots inside but you’ll see they are available with lines or grid paper as well. You can also find all different types of covers. Choose whatever appeals to you!
  • Posca Pens: Acrylic paint pens that create a nice opaque layer of color.
  • Gel Medium/Glue: This is my favorite glue for doing collage work. It is easy to work with and leaves a soft matte finish.

Small Business: 30 Days of Abundance (Day 6)

Welcome to 30 days of Abundance, Day 6. I’m delighted that you are here. Today I’m thinking about how the choices we make can have such a big effect on the world that we create around us. Please watch my video to learn more.

Small Business

Please support your local small businesses whenever possible.

Think about considerate and personal they are. They might even remember the name of your dog or ask about your family.

Many of these business owners are in it for the joy. They’ve reached their goal for the day when they see that customers leave with a happy smile on their faces.

If you’re a small business owner like me, you can probably relate to what I’m saying. You appreciate the difference that your small business makes in creating wins for employees, customers, and the community.

Remember the cute bunny that I pinned to my computer screen?

Here she is. I made her out of a brown grocery bag. What a transformation huh?

She’s my buddy who gives me support and encouragement as I shoot my videos. Isn’t she sweet?

Is there something inspiring that you can post somewhere that you’ll see it every day? Sometimes all it takes is a small visual reminder to snap us out of a negative train of thought. Try it with a photo of a happy memory or a little card or piece of art!

Share Your Thoughts.

Please post your comments and ideas below in the comments section below. When you share thoughts and ideas, you help everyone to grow. Yes, we can grow together!

Change: 30 Days of Abundance (Day 5)

Warning: Undefined array key "file" in /var/www/wp-includes/media.php on line 1712

Welcome to 30 Days of Abundance, Day 5! I’m delighted that you are here. Today I want to probe into how life-long learning and building skills are necessary to keep your self-esteem intact. Sheer Determination, Swimming Upstream in a Downstream World: Chapter 9 – Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall – the story of Joy and lack of self-esteem

If you are seeking change, first create change within yourself, instead of trying to change others.

Ask yourself this question, “What kind of change can I create so that goodness will spill out into the world?

Your AHA! Moment

You realize that you are taking steps to create a better world by reinventing yourself each day.

Reading this chapter out of my book brought back memories of Joy and her breathtaking beauty. I can’t help thinking what a role-model for women she could have been, only if she kept learning and developed the skills to match with her beauty. Here is my handpainted picture of Joy.

A Bonus Worksheet for You

I think doing personal inventory exercises are a powerful tool for personal growth. I’m sharing the form that I designed for myself. By filling in my answers on this form from time to time, I get so much clarity about who I am, my skills and what other things I want to learn. I hope that you’ll make your own Personal Inventory of your skills. Keep in mind, your answers can be very simple things that you do every day… Examples: I am good at making a banana cream pie, I am good at writing newsletters, etc. Be sure to give yourself credit for these things, not everyone can do them and certainly not as well as you!

I’m curious, what did you get out of my video, the story from Chapter 9 of Sheer Determination? Do you work to change yourself instead of trying to change others? How do you practice the art of life-long learning? As always, please post your comments and ideas below in the comments section below. When you share thoughts and ideas, you help everyone to grow. Less is Best: 30 Days of Abundance

Welcome to 30 days of Abundance, Day 4. I’m delighted that you are here. Today, I want to share a special message that came to me from my friend, Helen. She practices simplicity and calmness in her life. First, watch my video.

Less is Best

Keep it simple Doing with less is usually the best way to go.

Become a minimalist by reducing the clutter in your life and taking a simplistic approach in everything you do.

Your AHA Moment

You are amazed at how freely you can move about when your head is clear.

Helen’s Message:

I find that thinking and living with uplifting thoughts and things are important to me during these unsettling times.  I find comfort in seeing the primroses planted outside my door….they greet me when I come home and say goodbye to me when I leave for my walks.

I planted a little Christmas tree that the hospice brought to Shuzo during the holidays. It reminds me of the inner strength he had facing his last days with grace and courage. Hopefully, the tree will flourish in his memory.

I planted the daffodil bulbs that Coldwell Banker hands out in a planter just outside one of my sliding glass doors.  They serve as a reminder to me that things that are nourished and cared for will prosper and bloom.

Lastly, I was able to bring one of my orchids to a second blooming.  This is something I have not had much success in doing. Just looking at this orchid makes me smile and for some reason, it makes me feel good about myself.

All of these simple things add to the quality of my daily life.  While they are not earth-shattering, they are enough to lighten my spirit and helps me cope with the distressing news that bombards us daily.

Scared: 30 Days of Abundance

Welcome to 30 days of Abundance, Day 3. I’m delighted that you are here. Today, I will share some ideas how to transform your “self-love” tags (from Self-Love: Day 2) into whimsical pieces of art that you will enjoy seeing every day!

Scared

If you aren’t scared from time to time, you are playing it too safe and aren’t growing.

Ask yourself, “Should I remain safe in my comfort zone or get out and grow?”

You will be surprised at how your energy level substantially increases when you accomplish something you’ve never done before.

If you would like to have your own set of Magical Mindshift Cards, they can be purchased here, in my Artful Giving Shop.

A Fun Project

All right, it’s time to go and find the envelope that contains your “self-love” tags (if you haven’t already done this, go back to Day 2 and do the quick exercise). I know you’ve given some thought about those opinions you wrote about yourself. Now it’s time to put them together in an artful way and the truth is, there is not a wrong way to do this. No matter how you wrote them, it was RIGHT! And now, no matter how you arrange them, it will be just right for you!

The important thing is that you need to arrange them into some form of a creative piece so that it can be visible to your eyes every day so you can begin your day loving yourself first. Here are some ideas:

  • Make a personal vision board and make these tags part of it.
  • Place these tags in your favorite journal or notebook that you use every day.
  • Paste the tags onto a 8×11″ piece of copy paper and pin it on a wall (preferably in your sacred space if you have one.

Here are some photos of the visual pieces I made with my “self-love” tags plus a few folding notebooks I made for future use.

What did you make with your tags? I’d love to see your finished projects. Can you send them to me at [email protected]? As always, please post comments and ideas below in the comments section below. We all grow by sharing thoughts and ideas with each other.

Self-Love: 30 Days of Abundance

Welcome to 30 days of Abundance! I’m delighted that you are here. As many of you already know, abundance isn’t about things, it’s a state of mind. Please watch my video to learn more about this series and our first Abundance Activity.

search your soul magical mindshift card

An honest self-evaluation is helpful from time to time. Whenever you want a new start, go to the top of the hill in your mind. Think about the experiences and skills you’ve acquired throughout your life’s journey.

Your Aha Moment!
You realize that you have much to contribute to this world.

If you would like to have your own set of Magical Mindshift Cards, you can purchase them in my Artful Giving Shop.

Day 1: Self-Love Abundance Activity

Here is how you can get started, with this fun activity, to begin the process of learning to love yourself.
  • Find a special tiny box, glass jar, or a hand-made container. This container will become a sacred space where your answers will be deposited.
  • Find bits of scrap paper. You can use anything. I use all kinds of things: brown paper bags, colored construction paper, or even copy papers will do.
  • Cut them into small strips.
  • Go to a quiet space where you can relax and let your guard down. (Oh, don’t forget to bring a steaming cup of your favorite tea to sip while you are writing your thoughts).
  • Ask yourself, Who am I? Then go in front of a mirror and tell yourself, “You are unique and the world is a better place because you are in it.”
  • Pull out ten strips from your jar and write 10 statements about who you are and why you love yourself.
  • Place those ten (or more) tags in an envelope, and label it: Reasons Why I Love Myself. Put it in a safe place.
  • Save the rest of the tags for your next exercise. You will use them again in the near future.
