One of the Worst Moments of My Life
Two weeks ago, I promised that I would share another painful story with you. This unforgettable story is written in my book, Sheer Determination, Swimming Upstream in a Downstream World. When I was writing this book, I felt vulnerable sharing a story that I felt so shameful about but I forced myself to write it, hoping that it will help someone who might have gone through a similar experience.
Here is my story. plus a video.
I have a favor to ask you. Will you let me know if you’ve gone through a humiliating story similar to what I’ve gone through in your own life?

When I started my current position, I was told by a former head of department that I did not deserve the duties that I was hired to do and that I would not be able to do it. She was so blunt and since it caught me off-guard (up until now we had been on decent terms or so I thought), all I could do was respond that this is what I had been hired and delegated to do. I have now proven, and known to everyone here, that I have exceeded in everything that I do because that is who I am — I give 200% to everything that I do. Mostly, I was angry but I never doubted myself.
Hi Chole, Congratulations on overcoming self-doubt and breaking out of the bubble of what people thought of you. You have notched up your self-confidence. This is worth more than any skills you’ve acquired. Self-confidence is the foundation for whatever you do in life!
Kay. You are an amazing storyteller. In my mind I could see the whole story. Thank you for sharing.
Beth, thank you for your comment. I’m glad that you were able to follow my story. I hope to share more stories so people can say, “Ah, ha. A similar thing happened to me and I’ve gained the wisdom to overcome my challenges.
